Panto Time!!

With three weeks to opening night, the cast and crew of Cherhill Village Theatre are working hard to deliver this year’s panto – May The Farce Be With You, by Andrew Yates.  Finishing touches are being made to sets, props and costumes; songs and dances feverishly practised and the cast is getting into character.
So, get ready to follow Luke Warmwater to Nellie’s cottage and the Giant’s house for plenty of music, mayhem and laughter!

A big thank you to the volunteers from Cherhill, Calne and the National Trust that came up and helped scrape the weeds, moss & lichen off the surface of the White Horse on Saturday 13th January.  The next task is to repair the fence around the horse to prevent the cattle straying on to it, which the National Trust have kindly agreed to do;  and then we plan to get some sheep onto the horse, to puddle the chalk surface and eat the surrounding grasses down.

The next re-chalking is schedule to take place in April/May 2019, though we may have to do another scraping prior to this in a year’s time.
